“Tell me why the ivy twines? As if Trisha Donnelly’s art needs a reason. Like ivy, Donnelly’s work is as it does,” writes Hamza Walker in the essay accompanying this exhibition. Roaming free beyond any medium, Trisha Donnelly continues to lure and challenge the viewer with idiosyncratic forms of meaning. In this solo exhibition, Donnelly transformed the Renaissance Society’s gallery and offices into a space of encounter, one that performed itself with esoteric objects or their very absence.
The poster shows one of Donnelly’s drawings, Untitled (2005), printed in negative as an invitation into a world of enigmas.
