Swiss artist Mai-Thu Perret’s exhibition was comprised of an installation based on her ongoing fictional project, The Crystal Frontier. An account of five women starting their feminist commune in the Southwestern United States, The Crystal Frontier functioned as a scenario which Perret used to investigate activist communities of the past and generate new objects—sculptures, texts and installations—from unfulfilled visions.
For the poster design, the artist chose an image of Angkor Wat, a symbol for a trans-cultural ideal now reclaimed through Perret’s own utopia.
