In her table mat design, Iglesias uses two photographic details from a fountain she created in Antwerp to evoke dual nature of water in a liquid state. The images off close-cropped views of organic textures on the basin of the fountain, one while the fountain is at rest and the other evoking the distinctive distortion of vision cause be rushing water.
Christina Iglesias has a solo exhibition at the Renaissance Society from Oct. 5 - Dec. 21, 1997.
